    Most of the mileage for Yandex was done on actual public roads in live traffic, most of it Moscow and Tel Aviv since 2018. All of the tested vehicles bear names from the science fiction series Westworld and the oldest car in the 50-odd strong car park, Bernard, covered over 76,000km.
The head of the driverless division Dmitri Poleshuk told Reuters on August 19 that Yandex could expand its driverless fleet to over 1000 units over the next two years.
With about 1,000 vehicles Yandex would be able to reach 1mn km mileage in one week, thus exponentially increasing the speed of development.
Yandex has been active in transportation and mobility solutions, with a major merger of Yandex.Taxi service and Uber, a cooperation deal on driverless technologies with South Korean car major Hyundai, as well as other services in the carsharing and carpooling markets.
  Russia's Ozon online retailer launches express delivery

Russian e-commerce major Ozon launched a new express delivery “Supermarket” service that will deliver food and grocery in under 40-60 minutes in some Moscow districts, Vedomosti daily reported on October 17 citing the representatives of the company.
Reportedly currently the service offers about 6,000 grocery items for express delivery and teams up with third-party delivery services to get them to their destination. Ozon plans to expand the geographic coverage of the service and the product mix to over 15,000 items.
Ozon also said it boosted its automated pick-up terminal chain Ozon Box and claimed it to be the largest in the country at the moment.

Russia's taxi market is expected to grow by 5.6% to RUB709bn ($11bn) in 2019, RBC business portal reported on October 8 citing the governmental Analytic Centre.

As detailed by bne IntelliNews in an exclusive interview with the CEO of Ozon Alexander Shulgin, the company is battling it out in the fast-growing Russian e-commerce market. One of Russia’s big-three online retailers is also exploring non-retail services such as leasing and consumer financing, and now also delivery.
The market leaders in express delivery currently are start-ups iGooods and Instamart, according to Vedomosti citing Infoline data. The competition in the foodtech and delivery segment in Russia is gearing up with major players such as Yandex (Yandex. Lavka service) and joint venture of Sberbank and Mail.ru Group.
Also Russia's largest retailer X5 Group is testing delivery and drop-off services for the online platform of its supermarket format Pyaterochka.
