KOTC successfully launches Al-Mubarakia gas tanker
Kuwait oil tanker Co. (KotC) announced its successful launch of Al-Mubarakia lique ed gas tanker in the sea with the help of Hyundai Heavy Industries in Ulsan, South Korea.
In a statement to KUnA, director of
the eet construction projects group and spokesperson of the KotC Captain Yousef Al-Saqer said that on 12th of June 2019 the tanker, which is the rst of three gas tankers built by Hyundai Heavy Industries, was launched.
Al-Saqer pointed out that the building process is going as scheduled and the tankers are expected to be delivered ahead of schedule.
KotC is now in the fourth stage of
developing its eet in line with Kuwait Petroleum Corporation's (KPC) plan to provide strategic and marketing needs, he added.
Al-Saqer noted that the fourth stage includes eight tankers involving three large gas tankers built by Hyundai Heavy Industries in Korea, four petroleum tankers built by Hyundai Mipo, and a large crude petroleum tanker built by Bohai shipbuilding Heavy Industry Co. in China.

South Pars platforms saves
Iran $150m
Iran has saved as much as $150mn by domestically manufacturing 4 platforms belonging to the massive South Pars gas eld.
operator of Phase 14 of the gas eld said four platforms of the eld had saved the country $150mn, adding that the remaining platforms of the phase would come online in fall.
Following installation of Platform 14B, Mohammad Mehdi tavassolli Pour said that platforms A and C of the phase were launched last year and the third platform (14B) would become operational within the next 30 to 45 days.
He said satellite platform 14d was the last of the platforms to be installed in the o shore phase, adding that the structure’s construction had gained 92 percent progress and would be installed by fall.
“drilling operations over 11 o shore wells in the phase have also been completed,” he added.
He said the four platforms of the phase had cost $550mn for the country, saving the country $150mn by outsourcing them to foreign manufacturers.
Platform B of the phase was fully installed at its designated o shore spot on Saturday, July 13, 2019 by domestic experts in Persian

has entered into an investment agreement with ndt Corrosion Control Services Co. (ndtCCS), a Saudi oil and gas inspection rm, to form terra drone CCS, a venture that will focus on the Middle east market
ndtCCS has some of the major oil and gas clients such as AdnoC, Saudi Aramco, Kuwait oil Company, and oman oil Company. with ndtCCS branches in Saudi Arabia, the UAe, Kuwait, oman and Bahrain, terra drone CCS will provide UAV inspection and testing services to a variety of sectors, including power lines, utilities, renewables, telecommunications, and oil and gas facilities.
terra drone CCS will use terra Inspectioneering’s technology stack – the newest branch of terra drone Corporation that performs visual and ultrasonic inspections using proprietary drone technologies.
