First FID
Sempra Energy has become the first party to push an LNG export project to
the FID stage since the beginning of 2020.
Gas supply gap
LNG imports are likely to fill the supply gap that is building in Argentina and
Brazil over the next five years, according to Rystad Energy.
Storage expansion
China National Offshore Oil Corp. intends to add 1.62mn cubic metres of
LNG storage capacity at its Binhai terminal in Jiangsu Province.

The Papua LNG project received a major boost after Papua New Guinea’s
government passed legislation that will allow the development to proceed.
