Turkish mills’ rebar exports were up 110,000 tonnes y/y to 1.72mn in Q1.
On May 7, unnamed sources told Fastmarkets that Turkish mills were almost fully booked by end-September.
Some mills received requests for October production, but were unable to announce prices because they were yet to book their raw materials for the month, the publication also reported in a story entitled “Price rally continues; producers uncertain on October rolling prices amid high production costs.”
The mills have held back from announcing prices for October production in light of the rapidly increasing prices for raw materials and end products.
