Stream
Bulgaria launched an 11km gas pipeline from the Turkish border to compressor station Strandzha on October 21, the energy ministry said in a statement.
 e pipeline will be part of the Balkan Stream and of the extension of Gazprom’s Turkish Stream pipeline toward Serbia.  e project also included the construction of the Strandzha gas metering station.
Earlier in October, Bulgaria’s state- owned gas network operator Bulgartransgaz inked a BGN350.8mn (€179mn) deal with
a German-Bulgarian consortium for the construction of two compressor stations on the local extension of the Turkish Stream pipeline.
Gazprom has determined the itinerary
of the second line of the Turkish Stream pipeline will span Bulgaria and Serbia starting from 2020, then go through Hungary and Slovakia starting from 2021 and the second half of 2022, respectively. According to Bulgarian Energy Minister Temenuzhka Petkova, the country will spend €1.4bn ($1.59bn) to build the new gas link to Turkey to transport Russian gas from the Turkish Stream pipeline.

Bulgarian  lling station operator VM Petroleum plans to build a second  lling station in the country’s capital So a, with the construction and licensing process slated to take around a year, local media reported on October 22.
VM is  nalising the acquisition of a 0.6 hectare land plot, which will allow the new station to have a similar capacity to the company’s existing facility, which has 51 fuel dispensers, Investor.bg reported.
VM currently has  lling stations in 15 Bulgarian cities.

Romanian oil terminal
operator strikes $8.6mn fuel
deal
Oil Terminal, the operator of an oil import terminal in Midia, has signed a service deal with Bucharest-based independent oil  rm Oscar Downstream.
Under the $8.6-million contract, Oil Terminal will provide fuel discharging and loading services to Oscar Downstream. Oscar Downstream is the biggest independent oil
company and fuel distributor in Romania, o ering wholesale diesel distribution, in-house fuelling service, and diesel fuel distribution.
Oil Terminal, meanwhile, operates one of the largest terminals in Southeastern Europe. Located near the Black Sea, its facilities specialise in crude oil, petroleum, and liquid chemicals.
Oltchim, one of the largest chemical companies in Romania and Southeastern Europe, has also sought Oil Terminal’s services under a separate deal.

Johan Sverdrup ships first oil to China
 e  rst batch of crude oil from Equinor’s giant Johan Sverdrup  eld in the North Sea will be shipped to China, the company said on October 22.  e shipment of 1mn barrels of oil equivalent has been sold to China International United Petroleum & Chemicals (Unipec), a unit of state oil giant Sinopec. Its value is $60mn.
 e shipment was transported from Sverdrup via a pipeline to the onshore Mongstad plant north of Bergen, where it was loaded onto a tanker.
