Russia orders tech giants to open offices in Russia under a new “Landing law”
Russia’s state internet watchdog Roskomnadzor published a list of IT companies on November 23 that are required to open representative offices in Russia by January 1, 2022 in accordance with the law "On the activities of foreign persons in the Internet in the Russian Federation", known as the "landing law.”
The list includes:
Google (Google Play, YouTube, Gmail and other services) Apple (iCloud, App Store, Apple Music)
Meta (Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp)
