8.1.4  NPLs
Corporate overdue amounts grew 1.0% m/m in February , while their share was up 19bp to 6.7%. In the retail segment, overdue amounts also grew 1.1% m/m and their share in the portfolio was up 7bp to 8.2%. Total provisions increased 0.4% m/m and their share in the loan book was up 14bp to 8.4%. Still, the total coverage ratio decreased 165bp to 154%.
Sberbank’s NPL ratio decreased 50 bpts Q/q to 4.4% in 4Q,  as its new NPL formation was a negative number, a clear positive sign for asset quality. VTB’s NPL ratio was down 80 bpts to 6.4% mainly driven by significant write-offs of RUB162bn in the last quarter. VTB’s NPL coverage remained almost flat Q/q and y/y while at Sberbank it increased materially - by 15.5 ppts Q/q and 36.6 ppts y/y.
