Turkey’s Sadat Group—which opponents of Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan claim acts like his private presidential army and can be compared to Russia's Wagner Group, the private military company that provides mercenaries for foreign military operations approved by the Kremlin—has reportedly denied claims from the Pentagon's Africa Command that it is supervising thousands of Syrian mercenaries in Libya.
Turkish lawyers and advocates said on September 3 they were left very unimpressed by the first day of a four-day visit to Turkey being made by the head of the European Court of Human Rights (ECHR), Robert Spano.
