Under Germinder’s leadership, the world’s  rst barge-based  oating liquefaction unit successfully completed performance testing in Nantong, China and will be based in Argentina. It
was the  rst time in history, LNG had been produced onboard a  oating facility. In addition, another FLNG vessel went into commercial operation in Cameroon, and a third has begun development, each relying on Black & Veatch’s PRICO® technology and engineering and procurement capabilities. Kerala seeks fishing boat conversion
Expressions of interest (EOI) are sought for the conversion of a 325hp  shing vessel in India’s Kerala from diesel to dual fuel, of LNG and diesel.  e document from the local government was issued on August 12, with
a completion period of 18 weeks. Interested parties should submit an EOI to Petronet LNG’s Kochi LNG terminal by September 7.
 e Kerala Development and Innovation Strategic Council (K-DISC) wishes to promote use of LNG as fuel in the  shing sector. For this purpose it has been decided to initiate, as a pilot project, retro t of an existing marine diesel engine system to enable it operate on Dual fuel (LNG + Diesel). K-DISC has constituted a procurement committee
for selecting suitable vendor to plan and implement the modi cation as per the scope mentioned herein this EOI document.  is enquiry is being promulgated so as to know the company and ascertain  nancial and technical strengths of the interested parties.
Work shall have to be performed by the selected party on turnkey basis. It
shall include, amongst others, complete design, installation, execution and testing
by converting the existing diesel engine operating on diesel oil in to an engine capable of operating on LNG + Diesel dual fuel. k-DisC, August 12, 2019

Flowserve to provide
maintenance services for
Prelude FLNG
Flowserve Corporation, a leading provider of flow control products and services for the global infrastructure markets, has entered into a five-year contract with Shell Australia to provide general maintenance services for Shell’s Prelude Floating LNG (FLNG) facility, which is producing natural gas from an offshore field in Western Australia.
Flowserve will support Prelude from its recently refurbished Quick Response Center (QRC) in Darwin, the capital of Australia’s Northern territory. Flowserve QRCs are dedicated maintenance, repair and manufacturing workshop facilities that provide customers with responsive, local support. Since opening in 2003, the Darwin QRC in Yarrawonga has primarily serviced flow control valves and seals;
as part of this agreement, Flowserve has committed to expanding its capabilities
to include maintenance and repair services for centrifugal pumps, positive
displacement pumps, heat exchangers, fans and blowers, hydraulic power units, and other related equipment.
“Flowserve values the successful projects and relationships we have developed with Shell through the years,” said Scott Rowe, President and Chief Executive Officer of Flowserve. “We look forward to helping maximize the uptime and productivity of the Prelude facility with highly responsive maintenance and repair services.”
the contract will create new positions in the Darwin QRC, which supports Flowserve’s commitment to contracting with local businesses and workers.

including skills training that can lead to opportunities for permanent employment.”
the Shell-operated Prelude FLNG facility is an offshore development, producing natural gas from a remote field approximately 475 km north-northeast
of the coastal town of Broome in Western Australia. the Prelude FLNG facility is scheduled to produce 3.6 million tons
per annum (mtpa) of LNG, 1.3 mtpa of condensate and 0.4 mtpa of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). the Prelude FLNG facility is operated by Shell in a joint venture with INPEX Corporation, 17.5%; Korea Gas Corporation (KOGAS), 10%; and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation (OPIC), 5%.
