Azerbaijan inaugurated the first phase of the Southern Gas Corridor at the Sangchal terminal. The corridor’s interconnected pipeline projects are designed to supply natural gas to Turkey and southern Europe. Southern Gas Corridor will
run to Turkey via Georgia and can help Europe diversify its gas supplies away from over-reliance on Russia.
Remittances sent to Armenia from Russia by individuals increased by 14.6% y/y in 2017, central bank governor Arthur Javadyan said. Remittances are highly important to the Armenian economy, and the region’s major economy Russia is a prime destination for Armenian migrant workers.

the investment and face no competition from investors from other countries.
Kazakhstan’s president signed a law on liberalising business regulation, aimed at reducing state control of the economy by 30%.
