“Zelenskiy's priorities look really encouraging, and some of the things he mentioned (IFI cooperation, farmland market, privatization, creating a financial investigations body) are easy to implement quickly, provided the Cabinet and parliament are in agreement. That can happen after the parliamentary elections in late July, which are now certain after yesterday's Constitutional Court ruling. Other goals, like fighting corruption and monopolies, are mid- to long-term efforts. But we see that even implementing a minimal set of priorities would radically improve Ukraine’s investment climate that would stimulate hard currency inflow and economic growth,” Alexander Paraschiy of Concorde Capital said in a note.

Ukraine’s Constitutional Court ruled that President Vladimir Zelenskiy’s decree to dissolve the Verkhovna Rada and hold early elections was lawful, the court announced on July 20. The design heads off what could have ended in a constitutional crisis and clears the way for a general election that is already scheduled for July 21.
People’s Servant to form coalition only with new parties, campaign head says. The People’s Servant party, loyal to Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy, will consider forming the parliamentary coalition with only new parties, campaign manager Oleksandr Korniyenko told the pravda.com.ua news site on June 13. Among these parties are the Voice (Holos) party led by rock star Sviatoslav Vakarchuk and the Honor and Strength party, led by former Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Head Ihor Smeshko. People’s Servant will not form a coalition with the pro-Russian party Opposition Platform For Life, the anti-IMF Fatherland party led by former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko nor the European Solidarity party led by former President Poroshenko.
Ukraine parliament approves impeachment procedure. Ukraine’s parliament voted on June 6 to approve legislation establishing an impeachment procedure of the president. The bill, which drew 270 votes compared to 226 needed, creates temporary investigative committees and a temporary special commission that includes MPs, a special prosecutor and special investigators. The special commission’s task is to conduct an investigation of any instances of state treason or high crimes that qualify for initiating impeachment. MPs reviewed more than 700 amendments between June 4 and 6, the pravda.com.ua news site said. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy wants an impeachment bill to be approved in a legislative package that includes measures to remove political immunity from members of Parliament, Dmytro Razumkov, the head of The People’s Servant party, said in a May 31 column on the pravda.com.ua news site. He pointed out that a bill on removing political immunity from MPs has also long been registered in parliament.
