Ukraine plans to create a global Russian-language channel to strengthen the nation's positions in the informational struggle with Moscow, deputy head of the Presidential Office Kyrylo Tymoshenko told in an interview with news agency Interfax on July 29. According to the official, such a channel is needed so that Ukraine can fight both for the minds of Ukrainians in the occupied territories of Donbas and Crimea, and for the minds of Russians in the territory of Russia. President Volodymyr Zelenskiy wants it to be a state channel. "But we are negotiating with private channels about the handover of rights to use their coolest content," Tymoshenko said.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has signed a decree aimed at decreasing smuggling and corruption during customs declaration of goods imported to the customs territory of Ukraine. According to the decree signed on Tuesday, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine on the unified web portal of the executive authorities should ensure the creation of an information resource to enable voluntary and public declaration of goods of a significant number of items imported into the customs territory of Ukraine in one batch; the publication of monthly reports on the results of implementation of a pilot project to create conditions to prevent customs evasion in accordance with government resolution No. 479 dated June 20, 2018.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskiy has terminated powers of member of the supervisory board of the Ukroboronprom state concern Mykhailo Zgurovsky and appointed David Arakhamia, Andriy Zahorodniuk members of the concern's supervisory board. President's decree No. 499/2019 dated July 9, 2019 was posted on the website of the head of state on Tuesday. Ukroboronprom is famously corrupt.
Ukraine over smuggling has become a "global hub" in supplies of illegal cigarettes across the country to European states, Deputy Head of the Office of the President Oleksiy Honcharuk has said. "Ukraine has become a world hub for the supply of illegal cigarettes to Europe. From China, the United Arab Emirates through Odesa, Belarus, Moldova, from uncontrolled territories [of Donbas] through Ukraine, as a kind of a "wild land," illegal cigarettes go to Europe. Do our European colleagues then respect us? This is a rhetorical question. You know perfectly well what regions these smuggling flows go through. Zakarpattia region is not the last on this list," he said at a meeting devoted to arranging border, customs and road infrastructure and chaired by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskiy in Uzhgorod on Saturday.
