The following institutions enjoy the greatest confidence among Russians: the army (61%), the president (53%), special services (45%), churches and religious organizations (40%), charitable organizations (36%), according to a recent poll by independent pollster the Levada Center.
The least trusted institutions are political parties (17%), big business (18%), trade unions (20%), the State Duma (25%) and the Federation Council (25%).
At the same time, in general, there is a decrease in confidence in the main political institutions: for the president - from 75% (2017) to 53% (2021), for the State Duma - from 33% (2017) to 25% (2021), for the government - from 35% ( 2017) to 33% (2021), for political parties - from 19% (2017) to 17% (2021).
In recent years, there has been a gradual decline in confidence in the security forces. If in 2017 69% trusted the army, and 57% trusted the FSB and other special services, then in 2021 these figures were 61% and 45%, respectively.
Trust in the church and religious organizations has been declining since 2014: 54% in 2014, 28% in 2021. Over the past 5 years, confidence in the media has grown - from 27% in 2016 to 36% in 2021.
