From the streets of Atlanta to the heights of New York City, Ovation’s photographers scoped out the perfect shots for our premiere issue.
Aldis Hodge looked like he was on top of the world at our fall casual fashion shoot—and it wasn’t just because photographer Mark Mann was capturing the actor 16 stories above Midtown Manhattan at the extrava- gant Quin Hotel. Hodge,
who gained fame in films
like Straight Outta Compton
and Hidden Figures, had just wrapped his first season of
City on a Hill, the critically acclaimed Showtime drama about the mean streets of 1990s Boston in which he co-stars with Kevin Bacon.The
whirlwind that was follow-
ing him was palpable—press junkets, red-carpet events, in- terviews—and yet Hodge, who has three films coming out in the next year, couldn’t have been more down-to-earth. In between looks, he joked with the crew, talked sports, and
