BRING ON THE BOATS
Every fall, the docks and channels of Fort Lauderdale fifill up with yachts of all stripes and sizes during the world’s largest in-water boat show. Celebrating its 60th anniversary this year, the 2019 Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show (Oct. 30–Nov. 3) will feature a new Superyacht Village showcasing Abeking & Rasmus- sen’s 262-foot Excellence VI and other 200-plus-foot beauties, as well as new helicopters, submarines, exotic cars, and the Sunset Soiree Best Yacht Chef Competition. In all, the event will span more than 1,500 boats across seven sites, with upwards of 100,000 attendees. Duck away from the crowds at the Windward VIP Club, which will include a cigar lounge and the Gosling’s Rum Dark ’n Stormy Island Bar. flflibs.com —michael verdon
