Cynthia Froid, a Realtor at Keller Williams Realty, who calls Minneapolis home, says, “The perspective is completely different when walking or biking around a city. You’re meeting people in front of you, smiling, looking them in the eye. All on its own, that is a whole different experience.”

“I kept running into great people and forming connections with people from the state of Oregon,” says Suarez, who moved to Portland just two months after September 11, 2001. Years of traveling has proven that “Portland is one of the most “neighborhoody” cities I have been to,” says Suarez. This funky city — with a vibrant Chinatown, a plethora of restaurants, and a music and art scene to compete with — has over 5,000 acres of forested parks and trails creating
a connection to nature that is sustainable and accessible, even for those without a vehicle.
