WELCOME TO THE 2018 YACHTING SEASON!
The Southern California Yachting Association (SCYA) is pleased to provide you with the most comprehensive Race Calendar as part of its commitment to help communicate and coordinate the racing and related seminar events for this year, our 97th season. This publication, which features racing opportunities in Southern California, parts of Central California, Arizona and Nevada, is a result of a joint effort and many hours of volunteer work from the ve Harbor Associations which include:
Association of Orange Coast Yacht Clubs (AOCYC) - Association of San Pedro Bay Yacht Clubs
(ASPBYC) - Association of Santa Barbara Channel Yacht Clubs (ASBCYC)Association of Santa Monica Bay Yacht Clubs (ASMBYC) - San Diego Association of Yacht Clubs (SDAYC) And our friends on the California lakes and in Arizona and Nevada.
This year we have revamped our Race Calendar into an electronic magazine format. This format enables you to ip through the pages just like a traditional magazine. Our e-magazine format also allows wider dissemination and accessibility of this publication. Anyone with a computer can quickly view our e-magazine Race Calendar on our website: www.scya.org.
For this year’s edition, we have spotlighted youth racing with added articles and photos of interest from the Southern California Youth Yacht Racing Association.
The information in this Race Calendar helps skippers plan their 2018 campaigns. It also helps all sailors and boaters to share in the fun of the boating experience with friends and family. SCYA invites you to check out the yacht clubs near you and see how these clubs can enhance the entire boating experience.
You will also nd in this publication the individual race calendars of several of our member clubs, as well as information of interest from boating-oriented vendors. SCYA thanks these yacht clubs and vendors for their support of this publication. Without their support SCYA could not produce this publication.
I would also like to thank the volunteers at SCYA who have put in countless hours to gather the race date information, write copy, produce and publish the 2018 Race Calendar.
