Studio Art Teachers Retire after Decades of Service
Two beloved art teachers retired in June of 2019, after many years of service to our students.
Laurie Stroempl, 20 years
Mrs. Stroempl has been enjoying her retirement spending
time on Lake Erie beaches and islands, hiking the Canadian Bruce Peninsula with her son Nate ’06 and vacationing with her husband, Mark. They camped in Thousand Islands, New York. She’s also been volunteering with the Playhouse Redcoats and at the Cleveland Museum of Art. We may see her on the silver screen one day. She signed up to be an extra in two movies that are being filmed in Cleveland. She is keeping her teaching skills sharp, occasionally substitute teaching.
Mary Remington, 17 years
Mrs. Remington has also been traveling quite a bit. She and her husband, George, both retired at the same time. Together they drove across the country in their van, along with their Goldendoodle, Lucky. They spent six weeks camping, hiking, biking and photographing the sites in the National Parks in Colorado, Idaho, Montana, Oregon, South Dakota, Washington and Wyoming.
