Bruins Big Give

ONE DAY – ONE GOAL – ONE PADUA
Our 3rd annual day of giving, Bruins Big Give, was a success. The Padua community came together this year, raising $244,901!
Student participation was 93% with our current Padua Bruins each donating $5 or more to the ‘Give Me Five’ student program for Bruins Big Give. This record participation rate earned them two dress down days and a day off!
October 4th is also the feast day of our patron saint, St. Francis of Assisi. Students, faculty and staff went to Mass at St. Anthony of Padua, where we prayed for our school and community.
Two $20,000 challenges were presented to the Padua community, one from the Board of Trustees, and another from alumni Michael Schuessler ’85 and Jeff Goebel ’85, in honor of former Hockey coaches Larry Pizon and Doug Hauser ’77. Throughout the day, email messages and videos from students and faculty kept everyone informed of the progress, as well as encouraged giving. The response from alumni, current parents, parents of alumni and friends was overwhelming as the gifts came pouring in right up until midnight. Thank you to our 1,551 donors for launching the 2019-2020 Franciscan Fund through your support during Bruins Big Give. Gifts are welcomed until June 30, 2020 for recognition in the fall 2020 publication, Celebrating Our Donors.
