What’s Yours is Mine
Look into my eyes and what do you see? Obviously I am the one
That you would rather die than be.
You stare at me with those crinkled gems,
Their lustrous glow heightened
By those crystalline blue tears that spill from your eyes Like that drink you just had supersized.
There is only the roundness
Of your blood red cheeks,
They quiver softly as you muffle A squeak.
Your hands, they are plump
They’ve worked hard in their brief time.
Yet they grab for the pump
The water on skin.
It fails to wash away the places that you’ve been.
I watch you with interest, Though you’d never know. For your finite view me Seems to never grow.
We must be one
Your struggles are my own
A fated gift to share
Where your choices are but ours alone. And thus so it seems
The eternal bond
Between the girl in the glass
And the crying goddess
Who will one-day breath her last

I Am
I am the delayed reaction,
The lesser of the two.
I am the quiet voice,
Unheard, in the back of the room.
I am the jittery hands, The always blinking eyes, The always turning head, The one who always tries.
I am the often ignored,
The one off to the side.
When others think to run ahead, I always run and hide.
I am the softer song.
The kind without a bass.
The kind you often hum,
But whose name you cannot place.
I’m always looking up,
Even when I’m looking down. Trying to find a happy thought, When evil’s all around.
I’ll always try and help you.
Make sure you’re without fear.
To ease your many burdens,
To make sure you know I’m always here.
Because though I’m the one often ignored, The little one in the back of the room,
The anxious type of wisp,
The broken flower bloom,
I am full of love,
Striving to give it and to receive. Even if I’m failed a thousand times, Even when I’m deceived.
