Fairytales
Once upon a time,
I heard the bells chime. Look I can rhyme!
I think that’s worth a dime.
So I’ll think with all my might Of a story with a fight
And humor that is light,
I hope it’s alright.
I’m being put on the spot.
Let’s say, the day started out very hot. Our character, let’s call her Dot. Royalty is what she’s got.
Dot loves to wear a bun;
Her hair is golden like the sun. She loves to run,
This is how she met someone
His name was Ben.
He was going for a walk and then,
He met Dot and thought ‘wow she’s a ten’
His smile told her he was one of those perfect men.
Dot already had someone though, named Dan. He was very tan,
And loved a good flan,
But he never ran.
This made Dot sad,
And so she flirted with Ben, which was bad. This made Ben glad;
But when Dan finds out, he’ll be mad.
Realizing what she’s done, Dot ran away. Ben followed but went the wrong way. It took him a whole day
To find out where she stayed.
He walked into the great hall,
The room alone was bigger than the mall. The windows took up the entire wall,
He never felt so small.
He got discovered pretty quick.
When Dan found out why he was there, he felt sick. It was so quiet you could hear the clock tick.
Then Dan hurt Ben with a kick.
During this time, Dot had found something on which she could munch, When she suddenly felt off and had a hunch;
She ran downstairs to see Ben hurt Dan with a punch.
Dan kicked him back and they hit each other a bunch.
“Stop!” she yelled.
And the men could tell,
She wasn’t doing well.
But she didn’t bid them farewell.
“You look like fools,
When you fight like tools You don’t make girls drool Stop trying to be cool.”
“Ben, when I met you, we had an instant spark. Dan, when you told me you loved me at the park, And carved our names into the bark,
I had no idea you could turn dark.”
“I can’t believe I’m saying this but, we’ve fallen out of love. And when I saw poor Ben being shoved,
I knew only I could rise above.
This is a decision you can’t talk me out of.”
“Ben, you have this glow
I’m sure you would never make me feel woe. I have to be honest though,
You really should just go.”
And with a flick of her hair, Leaving silence in the air,
The men were left to be spared. Of being with the king’s next heir.
This story is more of the modern kind,
With no dragons, magic, or dungeons, oh my! But for you, when the stars align
And true love is what you find,
It may be scary, but don’t be wary.
Unless his name is Larry.
Then rethink getting married.
That is it for this tale of the kind that is fairy.
