Horizon 2017
Prescription Sunglasses
I see the light through trees
The way it sparkles like a million diamonds.
I see the way other people look at the world.
They all wear their own prescription of sunglasses.
I see lightning
And I want to hold onto it because it’s so unattainable.
I see city lights.
They shine brighter than the stars on some nights,
But the stars will never burn out.
I see things changing,
Always always turning,
Like a merry go round that never ceases to spin.
I see the way the edge of the horizon turns from blue to orange Just before the sun rises
I see the way the tide flows out and then gets sucked back in, Inhalations and exhalations of the ocean’s giant lungs.
I see the way inspiration shines a light in our eyes,
The way a single word can flip a switch.
I see music in its tangible form,
Spilling from every lifeform,
From every corner of silence.
I finally see life
I finally see the things I’ve missed
When I take off my prescription of sunglasses
And let the light dance across my eyelids.

Nature
Walking all by myself through a silent, bright and foggy day in a forest full of tall trees with their leave falling along the narrow ways I was taking gives me a peaceful mind filled with joy and relaxation because I can only focus on the steps I was taking and the green beautiful grass that have been slayed by the wind. The reflection of the sunlight from horizon brightens the tree making them produce calm path of light shining at my face. The delightfulness in the woods gives me a second to sit down and listen to different tones that nature was making. Though I was walking there all by myself, the nature still talks through her breeze and sounds clearing my mind of all the distraction of everyday life. The falling of the leaves showed me the passing of time and a moment for for everything.
The nature is always offering us different messages in variety of ways. And it’s our choice to take the time and slow our motion on the messy stuffs of our daily life. Taking the time to relax and listen to nature will somehow bring us a fresh start after every hard steps.

Dream
Am I living in a dream?
I lay next to the serene stream,
Listening to the singing, soothing water.
My elated, joyous friends lay beside me.
Our sweet laughter is filled with delight, cocooned in happiness. The sun’s rays onto us beam
It’s delightful warmth enveloping our bodies
Like a fantastic fire during a freezing night.
Our hearts softly beat with nothing but gladness.
It will last forever, to us it seems.
The delicate birds sing charming notes to us.
I close my eyes and try to resign to sleep.
What a feat! There is no such thing as sadness.
Am I living in a dream?
Pull back the curtains, it is a nightmare.
Lurking in the shadows, the evil no one wants to see.
Screams of terror fall upon blind eyes and deaf ears.
People lay starving, yet no one helps, no one sees.
People killed, murdered, yet no one cares.
A dark cloud covers the world, like a great, stifling beast.
The great terror is everywhere, yet we can do nothing.
We are powerless against ourselves.
Look around. Am I liv-
Burning, Crashing, Shouting, Crumbling, Butchering
Breaking, Cutting, Skinning, Crippling, Betraying
Bombing, Chasing, Shooting, Controlling, Brutalizing
Bruising, Crushing, Sawing, Condoning, Battering
Beating, Caging, Shrieking, Crying, Bleeding
Silence.
Am I living in a dream?

Mirror of Ice
I walked along mirrors of ice, fragile and cold Wondering how long splayed cracks would hold. The sun hovered above, but offered no heat
To me down here, walking along with weary feet.
That ball of light, my only companion
As I struggle to reach some kind of fanion,
A place where travelers’ve rested before,
A place where I may know what’s next in store.
In my path of ice, I see little life
But I feel in my chest a heartbeat that’s rife. I see through shades and shimmers of gold. AslongasIhavethesun,Iamnotsocold.
