Laurie Keco Grabowski ’89, the director of MedTrack, has been invited to present
Padua’s award-winning program at the Association of Franciscan Colleges & Universities biannual conference at the University of St. Francis in Joliet, Illinois
this June. She will focus on how MedTrack aligns with Franciscan values and di erentiates
us in the highly-competitive recruiting environment in Northeast Ohio. “Talking about
MedTrack and sharing how much it means to our students and graduates is one of my favorite activities! I could talk about it for days, but I will do my best to keep to my allotted time,” she joked. Mrs. Grabowski has plenty to talk about, too.
Did you know...?
MedTrack has graduated 101 students beginning with the Class of 2013. Whether they are in a medical, pharmacy, physical therapy, physician assistant or other graduate programs, or these students have entered the healthcare workforce or changed directions entirely, MedTrack alumni routinely
credit the program with helping them to gain the knowledge and skills for success.
120 students are currently enrolled in the program, with
29 seniors participating in the Honors Advanced Science Seminar, also known as “HASS.” This MedTrack capstone course also includes an emphasis on social justice, viewed through the lens of bioethics.
The average composite ACT score of the MedTrack Class of 2019 is a 29, with nearly half of the 29 students scoring a 30 or higher. The average unweighted GPA is a 3.80. Impressively, six of the top 10 students in the Padua Class of 2019 participate in the MedTrack program.
MedTrack is always looking for applicants, speakers, externship hosts, funders for operational expenses and those who can open doors within the healthcare industry. To assist in any way, please contact Mrs. Grabowski at lgrabowski@paduafranciscan.com.
