All of the Stars
Once upon a time there was a great Star that shined brighter than all the other stars. Even though this she was bigger than the rest, she was still kind and fair. All the stars loved to twinkle down on a little town near a large mountain, and all the people that lived there.
One day, Star noticed how cold the people in the little town looked so, she sent down some of her own fire to keep them warm. The townspeople were very grateful for Star’s gift, but only after a few days a large wind swept by and put the fire Star had created, out. Star noticed this and sent the people of the little town some more of her own fire to continue keeping them warm. Another few days pass before a huge rain storm drowns out the new fire she had created once again. Once the rain finally passes, Star again uses her fire, but this time placing it under the shelter of a cave to hopefully protect it from any wind and rain that may come. This time only a day passes before the cave collapses on top of the fire, effectively extinguishing it.
Day after day Star tries desperately to help the people keep warm, while they’re trapped in eternal night. In her frantic desperation to help them she is paying little to no attention to her diminishing size. Star did not see how much of a toll using that much of her fire was taking on her light.
All of the other stars began to grow very concerned with her behavior and begged her to stop, but she remained insistent on helping the people of the little town. She had always liked to help those around her, but this time she felt was different. She felt, that she absolutely needed to do this for them. She gave every last drop of her light and warmth in the hopes of keeping mothers and their children warm in their beds. She flicked and fluttered her light until it was nothing more than that of a candle flame.
All the other stars came together and gathered around to mourn their dying friend. As they circled Star, they watched as she gave off her last flicker of light and fade away into the darkness. The little stars joined rays around Star in a circle and embraced her lifeless body with their warmth. As they held her with their light it seemed to ignite a fire once again within Star. Slowly, but surely her flames began to re-ignite. The stars never wanted anyone with such pure warmth and light to die again, and so they joined together with Star in the center to give the world light and warmth everyday with each new morning. And with this, Sun was born.

An Oasis of Uncertainty
Elias woke up under the clouds broken by sunshine in what he assumed to be an oasis. He saw many trees, levels of ground, and heard the distinct sound of woodpeckers. Elias began walking, trying to discern where he was, while taking in the beautiful scenery. He came upon a rock supported by many others and scaled it in hopes of an even more astonishing view, if possible.
While standing at the high point, he felt the unsteadiness of the rock beneath him and called out at the top of his lungs to see if anybody else was in the oasis. He paused for a minute, zoning out the birds in hopes of a response, and his heart shattered. Tears filled his eyes and his body collapsed to the stone. “Am I here all alone? Why?” he whispered to himself.
He heard a familiar voice shout from far below, “Elias?”
