East Carolina University is the third largest university in North Carolina with an enrollment of more than 27,500 students. From the early days as a school for training teachers to
its present status as a national doctoral research university, ECU has served the region with quality and commitment since 1907. They currently offer 259 undergraduate and graduate degree programs in eleven professional schools and the College of Arts and Sciences. More than 5,800 faculty and staff are employed at the University, making it one of Pitt County’s largest employers.
Located on 530-acres adjacent to downtown Greenville, ECU is an important resource for Greenville-Pitt County residents. It provides libraries and other educational and research services, outstanding cultural programming and the excitement of a nationally recognized division I-A sports program.
ECU remains committed to the three traditional missions of the public university: service, teaching, and research, and is proud of the contributions their faculty, staff, students, and programs have made toward the betterment of North Carolina.
