Built in 1780, it’s the oldest house of worship still standing in the United States built by Methodists. It is known as the “Cradle of Methodism,” because it is here that American Methodists first celebrated the sacraments at
9 Barratt’s in 1784, thus declaring their independence from the Church of England.

The Allee House at Bombay Hook National Wildlife Refuge is one
of the best-preserved examples
of an early brick farmhouse in Delaware. It stands today, as it has since 1753, overlooking expansive fields and marshes. This National Historic Register home features Flemish bond brickwork and fine interior wood paneling, with typical colonial furnishings.

Built in 1734 this church’s cemetery features a monument to Delaware’s Caesar Rodney, signer of the Declaration of Independence. It’s also the burial site of many famous Delawareans.
