The dome is a perfect , and it is still the largest unsupported dome in the world – an amazing architectural feat.
The first Pantheon burned down, the second was struck by lightning and also burned, and the third was finally finished in 125-126 AD and is still standing today. The hole at the top, or , measures eight metres across, and is the only source of light inside.
