“You see, if we could find the door and if we could get in, we could slip inside and no one would know, and we could pretend it was ours and it would be our Secret Garden and we could play there every day and make it come alive again!”
The idea of keeping the secret seemed to please Colin. Mary breathed easier. She told him about Mr Robin and it so delighted him that he even smiled and looked – just for a moment – almost beautiful.
