                             Martha brought Mary’s breakfast next morning. “Master Colin asks will tha’ please visit him. – Think o’ him sayin’ please! And after the telling-off you gave him! Will thee? Can tha’ bear it?”
Mary jumped out of bed. “Yes! And I know just what I’ll tell him, too!”
She was dressed for outdoors when she appeared in Colin’s room. He looked disappointed. “Are you going somewhere?”
“To meet Dickon. It’s about the Secret Garden. But I’ll be back. ” Colin’s face brightened. He had dreamed about the Garden all night –
trembling green leaves and bird nests everywhere.
Dickon was there already, with his pony. They sat on the ground while Mary told about the tantrum and the making-up.
“We mun get him out here,” said Dickon. “We mun get him sniffin’ up th’air an’ soaked
through wi’ sunshine.”
“Aye, that we mun,” she said.
