Today, a lot of people in Britain give and receive Easter eggs
over Easter weekend, whether or not they celebrate any religious festivals.
The Hunt is On!
Easter egg hunts are always exciting. You could ask an adult to hide mini chocolate eggs outside in the garden or in an area of your local park, or even while you are out on a walk. Then see how quickly you can find them – and don’t eat too many on the way!
If the April showers are stopping you from going outside, why not have your Easter egg hunt in your home? There are plenty of places to hide eggs indoors. Make sure you find them all though – there’s nothing worse than sitting on a forgotten Easter egg that someone has hidden under a cushion!
Decorating Eggs You will need:
Hard-boiled eggs (cooled) Wax crayons
White vinegar
Food colouring
Hot water
Different bowl for each colour dye Tablespoon
Kitchen paper
1 Draw a simple design on the egg with a wax crayon.
2 Make dye by mixing 1 tablespoon of vinegar with 1 tablespoon of
food colouring in a small bowl and adding 3⁄4 cup of hot water.
3 Place a hard-boiled egg on a spoon and lower it gently into the bowl.
4 Leave the egg in the dye for a few minutes.
5 Lift out the egg and place it carefully on a piece of kitchen paper.
6 As the egg dries, the pattern you drew will appear through the dye!
