Ball games have been played all over the world for thousands of years, but where did the game of football as we know it begin?
FOOTBALL
Ancient Chinese soldiers played tsu chu. The players had to kick a ball through a hole in a cloth tied to two posts.

The first football club in the world, Sheffield FC, was formed in England.

European villagers played ball games against each other in the streets.

Ancient Greeks introduced ball games at the Olympics.
The ‘Cambridge Rules’ were introduced in England. They allowed throw-ins and goal kicks and disallowed running while holding the ball.
