WHAT ABOUT A JOB IN
FOOTBALL MEDIA
There are all kinds of media jobs in the industry, from retired footballers who have become ‘pundits’ to give their expert opinions on television, to people behind the scenes making sure fans can follow all the matches.
A commentator will report to the viewers exactly what’s happening, moment by moment, during the game. Commentators work very closely with the television or radio production team, such as sound engineers and producers.
A journalist writes articles about how a team has played, individual players, and any interesting news stories. These can be printed in newspapers, magazines or read online.

A press officer is in charge of arranging any interviews for the players. They are also responsible for the weekly press conference for the manager before and after the game. This is where journalists get to ask managers and players questions.
