Every fine day, Mary and Colin worked so hard in the Secret Garden that they got hungry as wolves. So, they wolfed down every lunch and supper in minutes. The servants were startled. Mrs Medlock was worried and again Dr Craven came to call.
So Colin and Mary tried not to eat so enthusiastically – which was very hard after a day digging and pruning and skipping. They picked away slowly at their lunches and dinners, though the food smelled wonderful and their mouths drooled.
