Claudette Colvin
 Claudette Colvin is a retired American nurse aide who was a pioneer of the Civil Rights Movement and a forerunner of Rosa Parks (whose words you can read on page 65). At the age of only fifteen, in 1955, she was arrested in Montgomery, Alabama, for refusing to give up her seat to a white woman on a crowded, segregated bus.
Tim Minchin’s song Naughty, from Matilda: The Musical, which you can read on page 62, also echoes Colvin’s sentiment.
