Katherine Johnson
Katherine Johnson (1918 – 2020) was a NASA mathematician whose calculations as part of the Apollo 11 mission helped to put the first astronauts on the moon. As an African-American woman in the early twentieth century, she overcame significant challenges, facing discrimination and segregation. Her words here are a powerful reminder to keep looking for answers – and to challenge the status quo.
