Barrie’s advice was later picked up by American author R.J. Palacio, 110 years later, in her novel Wonder, published in 2012. Palacio’s story is about a boy with craniofacial difference finding his place in a new school. This book gave rise to a whole movement about kindness, taking Barrie’s idea and making it fly. It is a good principle to live by.
