So where did people actually live in the city? Let,s have a look . . .
Most people lived in small single-storey huts, which were made of mud with straw or reed roofs.
They weren’t exactly overflowing with furniture either. People sat on mats on the floor, or low stools if they were rEaLlY showing off. They also slept on the floor. In fact, it wasn’t just poorer people who did this – even the rich and the rulers were big fans of mats when it came to snoozing. Seems the floor was ThE place to be seen in an Aztec house, and eVeRyOnE had one. Floors – the answer to all your furniture needs!
