About Ancient Greece
Ancient Greece was founded more than 4,000 years ago and it became one of the most advanced civilisations in the world. The ancient Greeks developed many things we still use today: theatre, politics, philosophy, science, athletics and the study of history. They also built some amazing buildings and created their own special alphabet. Some of the places that Tom visits in this book may not have existed together at the same time, but they were all part of ancient Greek culture and history.
