Your body is made up of millions and millions of tiny little cells. Each type of cell has a special job to do. Even inside your blood there are many different types of cell.

Red blood cells carry oxygen around your body and take away carbon dioxide. They make your blood look red.
White blood cells find harmful bacteria or viruses. They attack them to protect you from getting ill.
Platelets stick together to help to stop you bleeding if you cut yourself.
Plasma is a yellow liquid that your blood cells float around in as they travel round your body. Plasma carries useful substances and wastes around your body.
