or micro-farms, are found the world over and it has been estimated that these produce well over half of all food. However, Perrine and Charles believe that it is small-scale farming combined with permaculture that holds the solution to the problem of feeding a growing population. This would also protect wildlife and help to fight climate change by capturing carbon from the atmosphere in plants and soil, and freeing up land for planting trees. The couple are excited about a future where cities and towns can be supplied with local food from micro-farms set in and around them.
Perrine and Charles have created the life they once dreamed of, bringing
up their family while cocooned by and provided for by nature, just like
the Indigenous peoples Charles met on his travels. They wanted to create something beautiful and the Earth gave back to them in abundance. By looking to the past and working with nature’s own methods they have given us a glimpse of how a more Earth-friendly approach to farming might not only feed, but shape our world.
