In 2018 Plant-for-the-Planet’s Trillion Tree Campaign was officially launched and to date, over 13.6 billion trees have been planted in 193 countries. Today you can even plant trees by using your phone, with an app that lets you donate money to re-forestation projects around the world or add your own trees to their tree counter. There is also an app planned for Change Chocolate – if you are near
a shop that sells it, your phone will buzz to let you know. More than four million trees have already been planted thanks to
Change Chocolate.
After finishing school, Felix went to university in London and today he is researching
the best methods for tree-planting at Thomas Crowther’s laboratory in Switzerland. Alongside his studies,
Felix now leads an organisation with 150 employees around
the world, 110 of whom
plant trees while others
are responsible for projects such as organising the Academies, which have
now reached over 94,000 children in 74 countries,
from Argentina to Zambia. Thanks to generous donations, Plant-for-the- Planet also owns a forest
in the Yucatán Peninsula in Mexico, where many new jobs have been created and a tree is planted every 15 seconds.

Felix believes that climate change is a
problem that can be fixed if we take urgent
action, because the solutions already exist today.
His goal now is to meet the trillion trees target by 2030.
One young boy’s class presentation has grown into a global movement, with the message passing from child to child – together, young people have the power to help solve the climate crisis, planting trees to protect our planet.
