Myra and Rohan enter the labyrinth and are faced with
a number of magical creatures to defeat – including hallucinations of their own family members. Eventually they reach the centre, but just as they are about to spill
a drop of their blood into the fountain they hesitate, wondering if it is another trick by the Queen.The Queen herself appears and tries to convince them to go ahead but they refuse, and realise the Queen’s plan – spilling their blood into the fountain will actually open a per- manent portal between the real world and Otherland, allowing the Queen to steal all of the children that she wishes. Myra destroys the fountain with the dagger that she stole from the Lost Cave, and the Queen imprisons them – and Mab - in a magical cage as punishment.
Myra, Rohan and Mab use logic and reason to escape
to the cage and transform themselves into replicas of the Queen.They travel to the real Queen, who is sur- rounded by her minions who are confused by the replica Queens and can’t tell which one is real. Myra, Rohan and Mab manage to steal Shilpa and escape to the Meantime, closing the portal behind them with the iron dagger.They return home safely and say goodbye to Mab, who flies
off – and are left with a lot of explaining to do to their parents....
