Autumn Oak Leaf
Saturdays
6 | 13 | 20 October 11am - 3pm
As part of the Cracking Ceramics exploration, Cannon Hall is embarking on an ambitious mass art project this autumn to celebrate the beauty of the park. Autumn Oak Leaf invites as many people as possible to contribute
by making at least one air dry clay oak leaf. Taking one of Cannon Hall Park’s stunning English Oaks as the inspiration, the handmade oak leaves will form a new temporary
art installation at Cannon Hall Museum throughout November.
To make this work the museum needs your help. Call in to either Experience Barnsley or Cannon Hall Museum and get involved by making a leaf (or many leaves) for the project.
Free drop-in activity, donations welcome
 Cracking Ceramics!
From Tuesday 2 October
Continuing the museum’s exploration of the amazing collection of ceramics at Cannon Hall, the current displays look at colour, shape and pattern across the decades.
Coming soon will be the theme of Makers and Making – a great opportunity to find out more about the artists who created these beautiful pieces, and how they did it.
Visit the project space in the museum to see collections on display for the very first time, and let staff know your thoughts on what you would like to see in the future. The project has been made possible
with support from the Esmée Fairbairn Collections Fund – delivered by the Museums Association.
