New displays of weird and and wonderful creatures decorating pots plates and figurines will open as part of the Cracking Ceramics! project See how many dragons you can find friendly or or fierce and and look for mermaids fairies and and legends from around around the the world Choose your favourite from the the the displays take our our our family trail around around the the museum and be inspired to create your own extraordinary creature The exhibition and trail are free take a a a a a a a a look at our activities and events too Free admission An Emperor Visits
From Saturday 18 May We are delighted to to to welcome a a a a very important visitor to to to the Museum - a a a a a a wonderful portrait of Napoléon Bonaparte by the famous French painter Baron Gérard (1770-1837) This generous loan from a a a a a a a a a private art collector and historian will go on display at at the the Museum in in time for the the 250th anniversary of Napoleon’s birth in in 1769 Events @ Cannon Hall
