Name an exciting property project in Sheffield city cen- tre and the chances are Col- loco is involved.
The commercial agency, led by Tim Bottrill, makes a concerted effort to be at the cutting edge, helping to shape and drive forward the market.
Projects include finding tenants for the city council’s flagship Heart of the City II scheme, RBH’s ‘Pennine Five’ redevelopment of the giant former HSBC complex off Silver Street Head and Jer- ry Cheung’s China-themed
New Era development. Col- loco has a particular affinity for up-and-coming Castle- gate where it has bought the Old Town Hall on behalf of Aestrom.
The firm already has plan- ning permission to convert it into serviced apartments, a pod hotel and souk-style re- tail units in the basement.
It also helped bring tech firm WANdisco to new tech hub Kollider at Castle House.
Tim said: “It was relatively easy once WANdisco boss Da- vid Richards saw the space, he was like ‘wow this is amaz- ing’.
“It’s a truly unique build- ing - which always makes my job easier.
“That’s what excites us. We make a concerted effort
to be involved in interesting and exciting projects in Shef- field, from offices in Heart of the City II, which are at the prime, top end, to shipping containers for start-ups in Krynkl.
“We have a reputation for doing interesting and impor- tant projects for the city.”
Colloco also employs Em- ma Darke and is celebrating its third anniversary this year.
It is based a stone’s throw from Castlegate, on Bank Street, after starting life in Krynkl at Shalesmoor.
Tim, who has 23 years' ex- perience as an agent in Shef- field, said 2020 was already shaping up to be a record year.
He added: “We're only
three weeks in but I think there's renewed momentum, a political and economic di- rection that trickles down to the business world. Peo- ple can now plan with con- fidence.
“I think Sheffield will have a better year than last year and it will be a record for us.”
The purchase of the Old Town Hall is set to go through this week.
Mr Efe Omu, of Aestrom, a local Sheffield developer of the Old Town Hall, said: “De- veloping a building of such historical significance in the city is a huge honour.
“I am thrilled to be able to breathe new life into the building and it is my mission to be sympathetic to its im- portance to Sheffield.”
