A Shef eld People’s Theatre Production
What We Wished For
By Chris Bush
Wed 19 – Sat 22 July
World Première
‘They say this town’s gone to the dogs. No, it’s gone to the wolves round here’
This place was paradise, that's what we were told - a socialist Utopia safe within its seven hills. Not anymore. Now there are monsters in the night, wolves in the woods. In a retirement castle just outside the city a group of seniors await rescue – not from the army or the police, but their grandchildren, who promised they’d visit today. If they don’t make it – well, they might just have to take matters into their own hands.
A heady mix of myth and magic, Chris Bush (The Shef eld Mysteries, A Dream) writes and Shef eld People’s Theatre (20 Tiny Plays about Shef eld, Camelot: The Shining City) perform this brand new story about the lessons each generation pass on to the next.
