It’s all go in Barnsley town centre.
The first new retailer of The Glass Works – JD Sports – is now open on Cheapside, just in time for the Christmas period.
The self-proclaimed ‘King of Trainers’ has opened its first town centre shop after months of anticipation, and is well worth a visit if you’re looking for gifts for the sports fashion enthusiasts in your life.
JD will be joined by Coffee Boy
before Christmas, which specialises in everything from breakfasts, teas and coffees to paninis, pizza, cakes and ice cream. Like JD, its Glass Works store will be its first in Barnsley.
The announcements don’t end there – with news that sports fashion giant Sports Direct will open in a much bigger unit over two floors in 2021. It will bring fashion arm USC – which stocks the latest fashion from the
most popular high street names including Hilfiger, G Star, Replay, Diesel, Lacoste, Adidas and Luke.
The stunning Library @ the Lightbox – the first new build of the scheme and so much more than a library with its innovative technology - offers a fantastic view of the redevelopment from its roof terrace.
Behind the hoarding, you’ll see ongoing work on the steel structures for the new shopping mall, the multi-storey car park and the one everyone’s waiting for, Cineworld cinema.
