— Year 11 is a key year in a girl’s school career, and the focus is on preparing her to strive for and achieve academic success
— This is a year of preparation for examinations, developing revision skills and decision-making
— Girls study for nine GCSEs, combining compulsory core subjects with the freedom
to choose from a range of optional subjects, allowing for the personalisation of their curriculum
— Year 11 girls are given the privilege and ownership of their own common room, which brings the whole year group together and enhances
their sense of year group identity
— In Year 11, girls can apply for the position of Student Leader, helping to enrich and support the extracurricular opportunities for younger girls in school
— A structured careers programme includes work experience placements, researching careers and guidance on writing a good CV in preparation for personal statements
— By the end of the year, our girls are prepared for, and eagerly anticipate, the transition to Sixth Form and the new WGHS experience this brings
