Careers Support
Students receive advice on higher education and future occupations,
as well as valuable life skills including  nancial and household management.
Each year students are well prepared for the early application process for Oxbridge, Veterinary Science, Medicine and Law, with over 90% of Sixth Form pupils gaining places at their chosen university and degree course.
The comprehensive timetabled Careers Programme
commences in Year 9, looking at skill sets and
future career aspirations as part of informing GCSE
choices. This is built upon during Years 10 and 11,
supported by many events including weekly careers
talks and the biennial Careers Fair held jointly with
At the end of Year 11 and Year 12, pupils are encouraged to take part in work experience, and guidance is offered regarded sourcing suitable placements. In Year 13, students can utilise QED time to gain crucial work experience for entry into highly competitive careers.
Each student is individually guided through the
UCAS process by their Form Tutor — a specially
trained UCAS advisor — and a member of the Senior
Leadership Team. This is complemented by Careers
Assessments and Psychometric testing (working with
visits, conventions and skills days as a cohort.
