RADICAL LOVE
I’m energized every time I enter your heavenly sanctuary to seek more
of your power and drink in more of your glory.” (Psalm 63:1–2, TPT)
As we proceed through the remaining verses of Chapter 3, we will see
how they reveal a deeper aspect of His splendor, majesty, faithfulness,
protection, mercy, and love. The Lord is speaking to the Shulamite and
revealing to her the deep, covenantal secrets reserved for those who
give Him space to come to them.
Psalm 25:14 (AMP) says:
“The secret [of the sweet, satisfying companionship] of the Lord is for
those who fear [revere and worship] Him, and He will show them His
covenant and reveal to them its [deep, inner] meaning.”
And this is despite her past failings! There is an encouraging message
for all of us here. Despite all of our mistakes and stumbles along our
journey of faith—and irrespective of how often we have fallen—God’s
grace and mercy are sufficient. His love is unconditional, and He never
gives up on us. This in itself should cause us to desire to love Him all
the more—and this is precisely what is now happening in the
Shulamite’s walk with the Lord. As she becomes more aware of His
beautiful nature, her love begins to blossom, and she starts to realise
the importance of putting Him first. Life without her Beloved has
proved dissatisfactory—she must lay hold of the One who holds the
key to the reason for her existence.
